Kevin McHugh is your 2024 Candidate for Castle Rock Town Council – District 6. Kevin is a family man who moved to Castle Rock five years ago after spending 25 years raising his four sons in neighboring Larkspur. He is the proud grandfather to four grandchildren. Even before officially putting down roots in Castle Rock, Kevin was an incredibly involved member of our community.
He became an active volunteer in the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce giving over 1,000 hours of his time as Chamber Ambassador from 2014 until April of 2023, Events Lead Volunteer 2016 to 2022, and Chamber Board Member 2020 to 2023, where he served as Chairman for a year, as well as Chairman of the Chamber Foundation Board for an additional year. Kevin is a graduate of the Leadership Douglas County (LDC) Class of 2020, and a graduate of Town Academy 2022. He has served on the Town Water Commission, and is currently Vice Chair of the Planning Commission, as well as the Planning Commission representative on the Design Review Board.
Castle Rock’s District 6
Castle Rock’s District 6 is situated in the southern portion of the Town, due south of Downtown Castle Rock, and straddling the I-25 corridor. Neighborhoods include Plum Creek, Crystal Valley Ranch, the Lanterns, and Dawson Trails. Kevin McHugh has rolled up his sleeves for Castle Rock for years and has the experience to continue that work for the people of District 6.
Kevin has some great ideas on how we can continue to make Castle Rock the incredible town it is and wants to represent your voice and concerns in addressing:
- Responsible growth – Kevin wants to see Castle Rock businesses thrive and benefit from all the growth our town has seen, but he also wants to be sure we have the infrastructure to support that growth.
- Traffic Solutions – Like you, Kevin has seen his commute become a bit more congested over the last few years, and as your Councilman will seek to partner with Public Works and other appropriate departments to find common sense solutions to these congestion issues.
- Solutions for parking downtown & events – Kevin is involved in the execution of many events in downtown Castle Rock each year like our beloved Starlighting Event. He knows firsthand the struggle we face with parking for these events, as well as patronizing our downtown businesses, and is committed to working for you to find practical solutions for all.
